DP Cast: Designated Essential Infrastructure Workforce Expected to Maintain Normal Work Schedules
Message From Designed Precision Castings Chairman & CEO
As I mentioned in my message on Monday, March 23, 2020, the COVID-19 situation is fluid and continues to change rapidly. Ontario has just ordered the closure of non-essential businesses in the province for at least 14 days starting at midnight on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
The Province of Ontario released the list of businesses that are allowed to stay open. The work we do here at Designed Precision Castings is considered an Essential Business, and as such, we will continue to operate. We need to continue our production, ensuring it flows smoothly. This will mean ensuring that we have both the labour force and supply capacity to maintain production.
The health and safety, as well as financial health and well-being of our employees and their families, our customers and our suppliers are of paramount importance to us. To that end, we continue to encourage all employees to stay home if they do not feel well, and to discourage any visit to our facility from any suppliers, customers or prospective customers at this time.
DP Cast is continuing to do everything possible to observe the safe social distancing within our manufacturing operations including having our operators maintain a 3- to 6-foot distance between them and staggering lunch hours. Additional duties to support the control of a clean workplace have also been assigned. All employees are requested to support and be vigilant with maintaining their surroundings and observing best practices for a hygienic work-space.
Please stay safe and stay healthy.
Sincerely,
Jan Holland, CA, CPA, ICD.D
